Random Moments

Before I put up the winter and Christmas posts, I thought I would share some cute random photos of Alyse. Just a few of her everyday adventures. She's always laughing, reading, and constantly trying new things. It's so much fun to see the world through her eyes.  :)
One of Alyse's new-found loves this summer was popsicles, courtesy of Papa. She loves the cold, sweet goodness of them. This was one day in summer when she really made a mess of her face. It was so cute, we just had to take a picture.

This is Alyse "smiling" with a McDonald's pineapple mango smoothie. She wanted a sip when I was having it and then she ended up taking the cup from me. I told her to smile for the camera, and this is what she did. She ended up drinking the rest of the smoothie and still wanted more when she was finished.

Alyse loves her Daddy. Over summer, we had a tent from Grandma Harrison that we put up in her room. They had just finished playing in it when I got this picture. Alyse was all giggles.  :)

Alyse has done this a few times with Mommy's shoes, but this was the first time she tried on Daddy's shoes. She had also just finished eating some of a banana split from Dairy Queen. (Which is the reason for the red spoon.) When I asked her to smile, she gave me the overly expressive smile with super squinty eyes and a toothy grin.

One of Alyse's favorite pastimes is reading. She loves to be read to, to read to us and to read to herself. The first thing she wants to do in the morning and the last thing she wants to do at night is read. So of course Ben and I read to her all the time. The Little Critter books are some of her favorites.
This is Alyse reading one of her first favorite books, Goodnight Moon. She loved reading this all the time, then only at bedtime.

As for the first word books, Alyse likes reading them to us and pointing to the objects to tell us what they are, although sometimes she says it as a question. Instead of "bed," it is "bed?" But it does help her learn more words, so we don't mind.

The many faces of Alyse.  :)  From genuine laughter to her on cue face as soon as we say, "Cheese," Alyse is constantly smiling. We love our little princess Alyse.
