The Harrison Family: A Furry New Addition

On October 28, we got a new addition to the family, June. She was a 3 month old kitten at the time. Alyse was so excited that we got to bring a kitten home. She couldn't believe that she got to have her very own kitten! When we took June home, all Alyse wanted to do was be with June. At first she didn't understand the concept of being gentle with the kitten, but after we told her twice to "be gentle," she stopped hitting June. It took a few more days for her to stop pulling June's tail though. She just wanted June to stay so she would pull her tail. Even though I'm sure June was in pain, she never once bit Alyse. It was almost like she knew that Alyse was a little kid who didn't understand what she was doing. The only time she ever bit Alyse was when Alyse wanted to be bitten. Alyse liked the feeling of the kitten's teeth on her hand. Since when we first got her June was teething, she would play bite our fingers if we put them in her mouth, gnawing rather than actually biting. Her teeth were so tiny that it didn't even hurt, but kind of tickled a little. Alyse loved when June did that. She would just giggle. Now June and Alyse are always by each other.
